Getting ready for Halloween

We have had fun this year getting ready for Halloween. We sat down to carve a pumpkin. Logan really wasn't that interested. He stuck his hand inside once, but then was done. So then poor Joe was left to finish the carving alone. Joe is quite proud of his jack-o-lantern. He brings it in every night when we go to bed so no one will smash it. Pretty funny.

Logan was much more into coloring a pumpkin than carving one. He spent a lot of time in his chair coloring his pumpkin and other pictures. By the time he was done he was completely covered in marker. But he loved every second of it so it was worth the mess.

I was making decorations to hang from our car during the trunk or treat while Logan was eating breakfast. He desperately wanted one of the bats. I gave it to him and he played peek-a-boo with the bat for quite some time. I love this kid!

Exploding tomato

Logan loves to throw balls. He also loves to play in the fridge while I get dinner ready which has never been a problem until a few days ago. I was not really paying attention to him while I was getting dinner ready. I knew he was in the fridge, but thought nothing of it. Then he went into the living room. A few seconds later he came back into the kitchen and started tugging on me to follow him as he excitedly said "ball ball." I assumed he wanted a ball he couldn't reach, so I went with him to get him his ball. That is when he ran up to the "ball" that had exploded all of the living room floor. Apparently he thought the tomato in the fridge was a ball. I had to take a picture. I was quite impressed with the distance of the splatter. Good thing for carpet cleaner.

This is Logan taken just a few minutes after he threw the tomato. What a stinker!

Slumber Party!!

Since Joe didn't have to work on Monday (Labor Day) we decided to have a slumber party in the living room. We brought out a mattress, ate cookies, ice cream, and popcorn and watched Spirit (Logan's FAVORITE movie). It was way fun and Logan thought he was totally cool. They only bad part was trying to sleep with Logan. He was either kicking me or hitting me all night long. The mattress was not big enough for the three of us. Oh well, worth the memory.

Sooooo Tired!

I knew Logan was tired, but I wanted to get him a snack before I put him down for a nap. While he was eating I was cleaning in the kitchen. I turned around t0 check on him and he had fallen asleep. I always thought it was cute when kids fell asleep while eating. When I was a waitress at the Holiday Inn there was a family in eating after swimming. Their littlest was so tired. He fell asleep and his face landed right in his macaroni and cheese. So cute.

Digital Scrapbooking

The other day I was showing a friend of mine how to digital scrapbook. I had done a few pages here and there, but hadn't really gotten into it. A few days ago she showed me all of the pages she had done and I was amazed. It gave me a stronger desire to digi scrap. Just one more thing to take up my time. I do feel a little guilty scrapbooking when I should be cleaning the house or something. However, I think this is something that Logan will be able to have forever AND it takes way less time and money than regular scrapbooking. It is way fun and WAY addicting!!

First Day of School!!

Today was my niece Baylee's first day of school. My brother Tyler wasn't able to be there so I took some pictures and am posting them for him to be able see. She absolutely loved kindergarten. When I asked her if she made any new friends she told me that she didn't remember their names, but she was friends with almost all of the girls in her class. Here are some pictures I took of Baylee and her family while at their house today. Sorry I can't figure out how to turn the pictures the right way.

One day...

I am sure that one day I will do better at blogging. I am terrible at updating our blog (as I am sure everyone who checks it has noticed). I do really want to get into it. So, we will see. Anyway, I thought I would do a little update on what our family has been up to lately.

Logan is learning so much. It seems that every day he is trying to say a new word. He loves to make messes wherever he goes. However, he also seems to enjoy helping me clean up. Unloading and loading the dishwasher are some of his favorite household jobs. He also really likes to help me with the laundry. He 100% loves to be outside and would live out there if we would let him. My mom bought him a little wading pool and he LOVES it. He has become quite fascinated with the bathtub. If I can't find Logan the first place to look is in the tub. He often takes his toys in there and just sits and plays with them. Many times I have gone to get in the shower and found a tub full of this, that, or the other. Joe and I are totally intrigued by watching him. What a fun kid!

This is what I found in the tub one day.

We have been busy, busy, busy the past few weeks. We watched my sisters kids while they were in Florida, then had a family reunion with Joe's family in Cascade, the next week had a family reunion with my family, the next week Joe's sister got married, and the next week I started babysitting a few kids. It has been so much fun hanging out with all of the family. While watching my nieces and nephews we went to the zoo and Roaring Springs and played a lot with their cousins. Joe's reunion was in Cascade. Logan was a dirty mess the whole time and loved it. He was totally in his element playing in the dirt, rocks, and water all day. We of course forgot out camera, but I will post some pictures when I get them from his sisters. My reunion was in Island Park. We went to Yellowstone and Mesa Falls. It was so fun! I love my nieces and nephews and can't believe how grown up they are getting. That was my first time ever going to Yellowstone and I really really liked it. (I really don't know why this is blue and underlined). Anyway this is my nephews and nieces checking out the penguins at the zoo.

Cherry Festival Fun

Last week was the Cherry Festival. We of course loved every second of it. This was Logan's second Cherry Festival, but the first one that he was actually able to enjoy. He loved the big yellow slide. He could have done it over and over all day. Logan also loved playing with his cousins Ainslee and Lauryn who are just a few months older than him. Uncle Brian's motorcycle was parked where we made camp and he loved it. He would crawl to it on a regular basis. He also loved being able to snack on food all day long. I can't even count how many red vines and chicken in a biscuit crackers he ate. My nephews and nieces won balls at the games and I am thankful they did because they occupied Logan for much of the day.
After spending the whole day at the Cherry Festival we went back the next day for the parade. I'm not sure Logan knew what was going on. He did however completely love the sucker Aunt Jodie gave him and all the other candy that got thrown at us.

Homeless!!

Good news from the Greens! We closed on our house in Pocatello today. Horray!! So now the search is on in Emmett or Boise or somewhere around here. We have never felt so blessed to be homeless. With the market as it is we are extremely greatful that our house sold as quickly as it did. We will keep you posted on the house hunt in Emmett (hopefully) or somewhere else near.

"Crazy Hops"

Trevor and Keegan stayed up at my mom's house during Spring Breaks while their parents were in Mexico. We spent a lot of time playing outside with our dog Trigger. The kids were extremely impressed by how high Trigger can jump. They kept saying, "He has crazy hops!" Here are some pictures of them all playing with Trigger.

Logan loves to watch his "dog dog" play. He especially loves to watch from a safe distance. He is still a little bit scared of Trigger when he gets too close. Not that I can blame him. I think I would be somewhat terrified of a dog three times my size also.

Easter with the family

We had an Easter dinner and egg hunt with the family. It was a lot of fun! I always love getting together with everyone. That is one of the best parts of being back in this side of the state. And Logan loves, loves, loves to be with his cousins. They are great with him.

A friendly game of Easter baseball!

Birthday Cakes

When I was little my mom would make the coolest birthday cakes for us. I wanted to make one for Logan, so she taught me how. It was a lot easier than I anticipated and it was a lot of fun. My niece, Tessa, has a birthday just a few days after Logan. She absolutely loves Dora, so I decided to make her a Dora birthday cake at the same time. Here are some pictures of the birthday cakes.

Tessa was very excited about her cake!!

Logan is 1!!!

Logan had his birthday on March 21st. We opened presents together and then had a little birthday celebration after Easter dinner. I can't believe he is already one. Time goes by way too fast!
He wasn't so sure about his birthday cake. I was hoping he would dive right in, but he barely touched with a fork and would only eat it if I gave him bite sized pieces out of my hand. Oh well! I am sure next year will be a whole new story.
